Prices are charged in South African rand. A Free Quick Check that finds nothing does not mean a seller is safe, and no report gives a “safe” or “scam” verdict. The reports show you what public sources say, so you can decide.

What it helps you understand

What a Quick Report helps you understand before money leaves your account

Are there serious warnings?

Published warnings, relevant court or regulator records and trading restrictions connected to the seller.

What do customers report?

Relevant, well-matched customer complaints and experiences, attributed to where they were published.

Does the advert match the published offer?

The advertised price, product and promises compared with the terms and details the seller actually publishes.

What can’t be established?

What was searched, what found nothing, what conflicted and which questions remain open.

How AdUncovered researches a seller for your Quick Report

Is it right for you?

Choose the Quick Report when…

Quick Report suits you if

  • you want one seller and their offer researched before you pay
  • you can share up to 5 links: their website, social media page, advert or listing
  • you saw it in an advert, on social media, a marketplace or a website
  • the past year of public information is enough for you
  • you’ve already bought and want to know more about the seller (Quick checks the seller, not your own purchase)

Choose Comprehensive instead if

  • your order hasn’t arrived, a refund is refused or the sale was misleading: Comprehensive looks into your own purchase
  • the seller uses several websites or accounts (you can share up to 10 links)
  • you need business identity, payment and refund terms researched in depth
  • a lot of money is at stake and you want us to look back 3 years

What you submit

Tell us what you’re considering for your Quick Report

Give the details you have and say what you’re unsure about. You don’t need every answer.

  • Your email address (entered twice) and country of residence
  • The seller or business name, account or handle, and where you saw the offer
  • What is offered: the product or service, the advertised price and important promises
  • Your main concern and the specific question you want answered
  • Up to 5 links to investigate: the seller’s website, social media page, advert or marketplace listing (helpful, but not required)

Text only, no uploads. Type or paste relevant wording from adverts and messages. Do not include passwords, full card or bank-account numbers, ID numbers or unnecessary private information about other people. What you tell us is treated as a research lead, not as verified proof.

What we research

What the Quick Report researches: one seller and one offer

We research the specific seller and offer you send us, so you understand the concerns before you buy, whether you suspect a scam, possible fraud or false advertising.

  • Seller identity: who the business or seller is, and whether they are really connected to the website, shop or listing you found.
  • Warnings and official records: official warnings, public scam reports, court orders and trading restrictions. Court orders and trading restrictions are included however old they are, and we check whether they still apply where we can.
  • Customer experiences: complaints, reviews and repeated patterns. Reviews of the seller are kept separate from reviews of a product or a platform.
  • Advert versus the real offer: the advert you send compared with the product details, price and conditions the seller publishes.
  • Your question and other concerns: we answer your question within the Quick Report’s scope and include any other serious concerns we find.

We usually look at the past year. You can send up to 5 public links, but we follow the evidence, so your report isn’t limited to 5 results.

Your PDF shows evidence that supports and contradicts each point, a link to every source, the date we found it, and anything we couldn’t access. It gives you facts to weigh up, not a verdict.

Already bought? The Quick Report can still research the seller, but it doesn’t investigate your own purchase. For non-delivery, refund disputes or a misleading sale, choose the Comprehensive Report.

What a Quick Report looks like

A Quick Report shows Search Results you can check yourself

Fictional example · not a real seller

Customer question: “Do people who paid this seller receive their orders?” · Seller: Coastline Gear Outlet (fictional) · Website: coastline-gear.example · Research completed 12 October 2026

Customer experiences

Three complaints published on a consumer review platform between June and August 2026 describe orders that were not delivered after payment by EFT. In a published reply to one complaint, the seller attributes the delay to a stock shortage.

Source: consumer review platform (link in report) · Complaints dated 14 June, 2 July and 19 August 2026 · Why it matches: the complaints name the same trading name and website address · Note: these are customer allegations, not findings by AdUncovered or any authority.

Website

Registered recently The domain coastline-gear.example was registered 41 days before the check. A recent registration does not by itself indicate how long the business has traded.

Source: public domain-registration record · Checked 12 October 2026

The advert versus the published terms

The advert promises a “full refund, no questions asked”. The returns page on the seller’s website offers refunds only for unopened items returned within seven days, and store credit otherwise.

Sources: the advert wording you supplied; the seller’s published returns page (link in report)

Searched, with no relevant result

No matching entry was found on the official warning lists searched, and no relevant court or regulator record was found within the research window. This means nothing relevant was found in those sources on the date checked; it is not a statement that the seller is safe.

Could not be established

No company registration matching the trading name was found, so the legal entity behind the website remains unconfirmed. Whether the seller is currently fulfilling orders could not be determined from public sources.

This fictional excerpt shows the format only. Real reports depend on the seller, your questions and the public sources available. A longer fictional Comprehensive Report sample (PDF) shows the full report structure.

Limits you should know

What a Quick Report may not be able to establish

  • Public sources can be incomplete, out of date or contradictory. The report says when they conflict.
  • Without distinctive identifiers, a seller may be hard to tell apart from similarly named businesses. Uncertain matches are labelled as uncertain.
  • Private profiles, closed groups and pages that require signing in cannot be researched.
  • “No result found” and “source unavailable” are reported as different outcomes, never as a clean bill of health.
  • The report provides Search Results, not a verdict, opinion, recommendation or trust score. It does not guarantee safety or a refund.

No website?

A Quick Report for sellers on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or marketplaces

Many sellers only trade through a social-media account, a WhatsApp number or a marketplace listing. You can still request a Quick Report: give the seller’s name and account or handle, the channel where you found them, the advert wording and any public link you have. The research looks for public information that matches those identifiers.

Content behind a sign-in, in private groups or in direct messages cannot be researched. The fewer distinctive identifiers available, the more likely some questions will remain unanswered.

New here?

We’re new. Check us the way we’d check a seller.

AdUncovered is a new service, built ahead of the Black Friday and festive shopping season to help people check before they pay. A recently registered website is one of the signals our reports point out, so here are the facts you can check about us.

Who operates AdUncovered

Sweet Muse (Pty) Ltd, company registration number 2025/325070/07, registered on 16 April 2025. You can confirm the registration through the CIPC’s BizPortal (a free account is required to search).

The website’s age

The domain aduncovered.com was registered on 21 September 2026. Automated trust tools usually rate websites this new with caution. That reflects the site’s age, which we would point out about any seller too.

Payment and refunds

Payments are processed by PayFast, so we never see your card details. Research starts as soon as payment is confirmed. Once the research has been carried out, a refund isn’t available for a change of mind or because a report has few or no findings. See the Refund Policy for the cases where a refund does apply, such as duplicate charges.

Questions about the Quick Report

Will the report tell me whether the seller is a scam?

No. It presents relevant public Search Results with their sources, keeps customer allegations separate from official findings and explains what could not be established. The decision stays with you.

Can a Quick Report help with Black Friday and festive season deals?

Yes. Black Friday and the festive season bring many new online shops, copied adverts and deals that seem too good to be true. A Quick Report researches the seller and the offer you found before you pay, and shows you what public sources say, with a link to every source.

How is the Quick Report different from the Free Quick Check?

The Free Quick Check is a fast, shallow screening of a link and advert wording for common warning signs. It cannot verify a seller. The Quick Report researches the seller and the offer across public sources and gives you a source-linked PDF.

How is the research carried out?

Our in-house automated research tools search public sources, then an independent automated review checks the report against our evidence standard before delivery. A person reviews the report when automated checks cannot produce a safe summary or a relevant source link.

Can you research sellers outside South Africa?

Yes, where public information about them is available online. Coverage depends on the sources that exist for that country and seller.

What if I think something in my report is wrong?

Email support@aduncovered.com with your report reference and the finding you believe is incorrect. We review correction requests against the cited sources.

AdUncovered is an independent research service, not a regulator, consumer court or law-enforcement body. Read our Terms of Service, Refund Policy and Privacy Policy, or contact us.
